Center Of Wildlife Manu National Park 8 Days / 7 Nights

In this tour, we will travel through the mountains to enter the cloud forest, where we will do some walks to observe various species of birds, orchids and perhaps monkeys. 12 hours by boat to the deep Manu Biosphere Reserve in the jungle, visiting the hot springs along the way. We visit a mammal’s lick to see tapirs, deer and other animals, explore the primary forest (virgin) with the opportunity to see many species of monkeys, birds like parrots and incredible variability of plants such as giant trees, palm trees and plants medicinal. we will do a nocturnal walk to observe spiders (tarantulas), insects, frogs and snakes. an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Peruvian jungle.

Itinerary

DAY 01.- CUSCO CITY – PARADISE LODGE IN THE CLOUD FOREST.

We leave from Cusco at 5. In the morning in our comfortable bus and travel through Mountains, beautiful valleys, rural communities and visit Ninamarca Chullpas (tombs); these belong to the pre-Inca culture (Lupacas). Then we will climb up the last mountain and arrive to Acjanaco, this is all made by bus until the entrance to the MANU NATIONAL PARK. Where is planning to have our picnic lunch in a beautiful spot. Fallowing this we will descend into the mysterious cloud forest, which has a huge variety of flora and fauna, making it an ideal home for epiphytic, orchids and bromeliads. By the afternoon we take a short  hike in this perpetual cloud forest, where we will be able to see the famous Peruvian bird (Cock of the rock) acting in a daily ritual mating dance as well as trogons, quetzal, toucans, monkeys and on a lucky day the only Spectacle Bear of South America (Tremantus ornatus).  At Night we will spend in our comfortable lodge.

DAY 02.- PARADISE LODGE – HUMMINGBIRD LODGE IN BOCA MANU.

Early in the morning, after breakfast we will have the chance to walk along the high wood forest visiting the local agriculture like coca plants, pineapples, etc. on the way to Atalaya you will appreciate many colourful birds and families of monkeys. We arrive at Atalaya river port, where we will get board our motor boat with good save equipment and start to navigate down this typical Amazonian river of Madre de Dios for 05 hours to Boca Manu. On the way we will have interesting stop for appreciate some families of Capivaras, howler monkeys, cormorants, ,stc. In these isolate areas in the Peruvian Amazon; here we have tribes who have no contact with the outside world. three years ago we were one of the first privileged tourist group to appreciate and capture some good pictures of this group Mashco piro.
At night fall we can go to explore the forest by our flashlight and search some caimans, frogs, owls, and many other night creatures around the lake. Overnight In our comfortable Hummingbird lodge..
Nocturnal activities are available each night. These range from nocturnal walks, talks of nigthlife and caiman spotting.

DAY 03.- HUMMINGBIRD LODGE – CASA MATSIGUENKA LODGE

Very early we start our expedition again by boat up the Manu river 30 minutes upstream is located ,the Ranger Station Limonal. With our permit, where we will register our entrance to the heart of the Manu Reserve Zone the center of wildlife and here we will separate our best time for visit this two beautiful oxbow lakes in Manu. In the course of the trip carefully searching summing white caimans, enormous black caimans, capybara, breeding sade-necket turtle, hundreds of sand coloured night hawks roosting during the day on the trunks, several groups of macaws, parrots Toucans and on a lucky day an impressive jaguar (Pantera onca) resting on the river bank. At mid-afternoon is the time to visit the lake cocha Otorongo, where is located the observation tower for see all the rainforest canopy and overlooking the lake. Monkeys are usually spotted everywhere.
At 16 pm. We arrive at the casa Matsiguenka lodge. Where the families of Matsiguenka lodge will be waiting for us and we will be conducted until our accommodations, where they will show us all this infrastructure and services for have a sweet stay. Over night.

DAY 04.- CASA MATSIGUENKA LODGE

The most dynamic place of wildlife, we will take a hike through this virgin forest and explore one of the most beautiful oxbow lake of Manu (Cocha Salvador). We ride by catamaran. There is a chance to see a huge variety of colourful birds, numerous species of monkeys, black caimans and we may encounter Giant otters (Pteronura brasiliensis). This endangered species can be seen swimming, fishing, eating and playing on the floating logs. After this fantastic show we will retour to our lodge for enjoy our typical food
By the afternoon we will have a short boat ride crossing the river and start to walk 2 hours through this virgin forest and observe these ancient kapok trees, mahogany trees, rubber trees, cedar and many other trees it is home of several mammals that are occasionally encountered like Brown capuchin monkeys, black spider monkeys and some wild pigs called peccaries. At night we can explore the forest with good flashlights looking, insects, snakes, frogs over night in Matsiguenka lodge.

DAY 05.- CASA MATSIGUENKA – PAKITZA RANGER STATION. BUSH HOUSE

After our healthy breakfast we get into the boat and slowly going up the Manu stream searching jaguar are usually seem on the high elevation sand banks and on the falling logs.
Pakitza is one of the control point of the Manu National Park that is located at the deepest part of the Manu Reserve Zone given us the best opportunity to see these endanger Animals.
At mind afternoon we go for the bush house this is a camouflaged platform into the forest for appreciate one of the largest terrestrial mammal of the Amazon rainforest the Tapir, here we have a mammal clay lick, at this spot are coming Wild pigs, dears, monkeys and jungle turkeys. Over night in tents at platform in the control point. We will provide all the camping equipments.

DAY 06.- CASA MATSIGUENKA LODGE – PANKOTSI LODGE

Early in the morning after the bredfast  slowly go down the interesting Manu river, giving us the best chance to see some migratory birds like osprey, jabirus, wood stork, Ones we arrive to Boca Manu village we will enjoy cold drinks. Following the day we head upriver of Madre de Dios on direction to Pankotsi lodge. Where friendly families of shipitiary native village will be waiting for us. Here we have an interesting program for interact and learn the different ways of living of Matsigenka tribe. Over night

DAY 07.-  PANKOTSI LODGE- PARADISE LODGE

This day after to have our great breakfast we’ll continue our trip up Madre de Dios river in our comfortable boat and enjoy all this great views of this kungle or just relaxing this last hours from this beautiful boat ride. Stop at the hot springs, where we may relax in this unique and natural pond. Ones we’ll get Atalaya river port we will get on our bus and go back to paradiese lodge.

DAY 08.- PARADISE  LODGE – CUSCO CITY.

Waking up very early for appreciate again the cook of the rock in San Pedro, where we may have our breakfast, we also may stop frequently to observe wildlife in the cloud forest.
Continue our return to the ancient Inca’s city, we will driving through the Andean mountains and arrive to Cusco at 5:00 pm.. We will return you at your Hotel.
