Wild Experience In Manu 4 Days / 3 Nights

Information

The Manu National Park, considered one of the largest and richest natural reserves in the world, allows you to take intimate contact with nature starting from the cloud forest plain to the lower jungle with greater biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST – PARADIESE LODGE

Starting early in Cusco we started our 8 hour journey by private bus ascending to the high mountain area at 4000 m (13,000 feet). After a short stop in Ninamarca, to see the pre-Inca cemetery and the colonial town of Paucartambo, we descend the eastern slopes of the Andes through cloud forests with lush vegetation (ferns, orchids, bromeliads, etc.). The Andes And you can see wildlife as our national bird: the bright red Rooster of the Rocks (Rupicola peruviana) showing his mating dance. Walking along the road of brightly colored Tanagers, Quetzals, Trogons, Toucans and Hummingbirds as well as hawks can be seen and possibly the first monkeys such as Woolen Monkeys. In the afternoon we arrived at Paradise lodge (1000 m), where we spent the night (double rooms and private bathroom). After dinner your guide will inform you about the next day’s activities.

DAY 2: PARADISE LODGE – AMAZON COLIBRI LODGE

After an early breakfast we continued with our minibus: we passed the village of Pilcopata. On the way we will stop for some bird watching and visit a local orchid garden. In Atalaya we embark on a two hour trip down the river in a motorized canoe 15 meters along the Alto Madre de Dios River. We have the opportunity to see wildlife along the river’s rocky shores, such as Fasciated Tiger Herons, Purplish Jays, Skimmers and some of the monkey species that live in Manu. ALTER THE OUR LODGE we will have our lunch. In the afternoon we will have an introductory walk to explore some of the trails and observe birds, insects and monkeys. At night we can go hunting for caimans, nocturnal birds, insects, mammals, etc. Tonight we stayed at our Amazon Hummingbird Hostel. After dinner the guide will inform you about the activities of the following day.

DAY 3: AMAZON COLIBRI LODGE-BONANZA ISLAND

At dawn we embarked on a trip of three hours down the river ,during this trip we will visit  to parrot clay lick This is a special place where parrots, parakeets and small macaws (the Chestnut macaw and the rare blue-headed macaw) go to eat minerals that help them with digestion. after this magnificent activity we will have our delicious breakfast then we will continue our journey observing birds and mammals until arriving our camp  located on the giant island of Bonanza where we will have a  great  walk to observe wildlife such as parrots, toucans, monkeys, capibaras, and the many species of birds. After of this great walk we will have our delicious lunch and a good opportunity to swim in the river. the afternoon we return to our lodge AMAZON COLIBRY LODGE is the last night and you will have the full freedom to choose the activities You liked. We offer night walk, bonfire on the beach, you will also have the opportunity to see the constellations.

DAY 4: LODGE AMAZON COLIBRI – ATALAYA – CUSCO

After breakfast we packed our luggage and then took the boat back to Atalaya where our bus is waiting. We started our journey back through the cloud forest, with some stops and opportunities to see birds and monkeys. Then we headed to the Andes again, arriving in Cusco around 7 pm. Transfer to the hotel.
